If the Opening and Final Images show the true transformation of a hero, the story will really resonate. A powerful example comes from Jean-Marc Vallée’s fact-based drama, Dallas Buyers Club, and the changes we see in Ron Woodroof as played by Oscar®-winning Best Actor Matthew McConaughey. Hear Master Cat! Jose Silerio and Guy Thompson break down these two perfectly executed beats.

Excellent breakdown. I’d argue that there is a solid save the cat moment. It’s when he goes to help the injured oil rig worker, orders people to call an ambulance, and risks electrocution to try and save this random guy. It also successfully foreshadows the arc of the film; he is drawn (albeit reluctantly at first) to aid the afflicted when no one else is willing.
