Just heard this great news from the multi-talented Rupert James:

“I read Save the Cat! with a view to sharpening up a screenplay I was working on, and it occurred to me that it applied to prose fiction just as much as to screenwriting. At that time I was planning a novel, and so I revisted my plans with the Blake Snyder Beat Sheet in mind, and made some significant adjustments. The results speak for themselves: my agent sent it out to editors on a Friday, and we had the deal the following Wednesday.”

Rupert’s book, SILK, was purchased by Ebury Press in London. Gillian Green, Editorial Director for Fiction at Ebury, commented: “Set in the world of high fashion and high profile divorces, SILK is a sumptuously glamourous, steamy yet sophisticated blockbuster that is impossible to put down. Rupert James has taken the classic genre of Harold Robbins, Shirley Conran and Sidney Sheldon and brought it bang up to date with a sexy contemporary spin. We’ve all fallen in love with Rupert’s writing — he’s created an utterly addictive, hugely entertaining romp.”

Congratulations, Rupert!
